Softcom is contributing to the development of the Centralised End-to-End Mission Monitoring System (CMMS), an innovative solution designed to enhance mission monitoring capabilities for Network Operations Centers (NOC) and mission operators. The goal of CMMS is to create a centralized system that aggregates system messages, alarms, warnings, and errors to improve ground station operator situational awareness, presenting critical warnings through a streamlined, modern dashboard that minimizes noise and complexity.
CMMS functions as an advanced data ingestion and correlation platform, collecting ground station and mission system events, logs, and traces from multiple sources. This allows operators to efficiently search, monitor, and correlate information across missions, supporting future operations models where NOC staff may manage multiple missions simultaneously.
Softcom is responsible for the requirements engineering, feasibility analysis, architectural design, technology selection, and backend implementation of the CMMS project. Our team leverages key technologies such as Java, the Spring Cloud framework, microservices architecture, the Drools Complex Event Processing (CEP) engine, and Docker to deliver a reliable and scalable solution.
This project underscores Softcom’s expertise in creating sophisticated solutions for mission-critical space applications, supporting the ESA’s operational excellence in space exploration and monitoring.
